My First Review : Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar (one of my favorites)

Rogue's Hazelnut Brown Nectar is a Brown Ale from the Rogue Brewery in Newport, Oregon. Rogue is probably my favorite brewery overall. It has grown from a small microbrewery on the Oregon Coast and has won numerous awards worldwide. The Hazelnut Brown Nectar has won many awards worldwide dating back to 1996. My Grandparents live in a small fishing community (Depoe Bay) just outside of Newport so when we go to visit we always make a trip out to the brewery and stock up on great beer! The Hazelnut Brown Nectar 6.22% alcohol by volume and is dark in color and when poured creates a very nice head of foam that fades to a thin but constant layer. Great lacing, particularly further down the glass. It is a very smooth beer with a sweet hazelnut aroma along with a hint of roast, almost chocolate like. It has rich creamy, nutty flavor with a hint of syrup and caramel and a smooth malty finish. For me it is a beer I can drink with any meal and on any occasion.

As it is one of my favorite beers I give it a rating of 10.
